The Otis Mountain Get Down is an annual Music, Art, and experiential festival hosted at Otis Mountain in Elizabethtown, NY every September. Rather than focus on bringing in the biggest, most well known modern artist, we focus on curating up and coming talent that's on the verge of becoming the next big thing, allowing us to create an intimate setting with high quality music.
The Otis Mountain Get Down Local Series will be an expansion upon our existing annual festival. At present, we're able to create an annual, 3 day long experience for Otis guests. Rather than attempt to grow this single festival in size, what we'd prefer to do is launch our Local Series, which will allow us to host more live music and art events throughout the year, in different locations across New England. In doing so, we hope to become the premier organization for promoting talent that's on the verge of breaking through, while exposing our audience to new forms of art that they otherwise may not have experienced.
First and foremost, our festival is about community. Whether through our curation of music, bringing out of state traffic to a small Adirondack town, or creating unforgettable experiences for our guests, the primary goal of Otis is to host a weekend that lets New Englanders relax, connect, and grow through the discovery of new music and experiences. What we do matters because Otis has an effect on those who experience it that lasts much longer than a 3 day weekend.
While Otis is currently a 3 day festival occurring once per year, our goal is to expand our operations to include more events throughout the year. In winning this grant contest, the funds would allow us to begin pursuing artists for our first ever one-off show, currently scheduled to occur sometime in November, in Burlington, VT.
